“Who Shot The Sheriff?” è una pellicola del 2005, diretta dal filmaker inglese Alan Miles, che ripercorre attraverso immagini live (alcune inedite) ed interviste, il percorso del movimento inglese di fine anni ‘70 “Rock Against Racism” per arrivare fino alla sua versione contemporanea del “Love Music Hate Racism”. Un movimento antirazzista ancora vitale che ha contribuito fortemente nel corso degli anni a sensibilizzare attraverso la musica i giovani inglesi sul tema delle discriminazioni razziali. Dal mitico concerto dei Clash al Victoria Park (1978), passando per Specials, Steel Pulse, Misty in Roots, Sham 69, fino alle più recenti esibizioni live di Libertines e Hard-Fi.

Directed by Alan Miles and featuring the 1978 Rock Against Racism Carnival in East London’s Victoria Park, “Who Shot The Sheriff?” tells the story of one of the most exciting mass movements in British history. The film features interviews and unseen footage from the Rock Against Racism movement of the 1970′s including The Clash, The Specials, Misty In Roots, and Sham 69. The documentary tracks the rise of racism and the National Front in Britain during the 70′s and shows how a generation, black and white, fought back against the Nazi threat.
