On the southern edge of the great Namib desert, the remains of the former german mining town of Kolmanskop (abandoned in 1950), once one of the richest towns in Africa, symbol of the german colonial ambitions at the beginning of the 20th century, are slowly being decimated by wind, sun and sand.
